Hey,

i'm going to write an IRC bot for linux soon, so... what language should i use?
I thought about C++, but i'm not that experienced yet...

Are there good tutorials somewhere? Didn't found anything on google.. =|

Meh I dont get it >.> what do you mean by standalone application?

You want to create an IRC BOT.. allright so then scripting it in PHP or MIRC would be the best ok

If you want a stand alone app then you pretty much need a stand alone language, i.e. something like C/C++ or Delphi.

You all don't get it? PHP isn't standalone!

I want some tutorials for scripting an IRC bot in C(++) :|

That's really not the sort of thing you get tutorials for, it's far too complex and specific. You need to just learn the language and various APIs, as well as the IRC protocol (which is public) then do it yourself. As with anything start small and work your way up to something like this.
