Yeah, but nobody wants a closet filled with incomplete projects.

There really is no point in making your own OS. You won't be making much money because Linux is already open source and free to use, and Windows has drivers for freaking everything. Besides, making Operating Systems these days is dangerous what with so many patents about. And if you don't sell it, you're still the only person on the planet with your OS, so I doubt many groups will be making programs for it.

I've actually tried this in Visual Basic when i was in high school.. I still mess around with VB, but i know now that Visual Basic is not the language for coding operating systems.

I still would think it would be cool to make my own OS, but i don't know enough about doing that.

C,C++, and optionally ASM (makes life alot easier) is needed to make a basic OS

When I was like 12 I was going to try to do it in Linux, just it's not really worth it.

Making an OS can't be done singly. If it were so easy to make, the internet would've been full of them. You will have to think about every aspect of it. You've to make an error message for the slightest error. This ain't so easy.

One, it wouldn't be a waste of time if you were successful, that could bring big bucks in.

Two, I'm sure when Summer hits, there'll be shit to do lol, everyone is out and about on summer.

Three, I have had it in my mind to create an OS some time.
