Home hosting, Would you buy?

I once home hosted my server when i had static IP and it was not that bad..i had abt 15 players.

Hosting an active server uses around 300-500GB of bandwidth a month depending on players. Bell charges B/W by the GB, you will be their favourite customer.

I would consider it but the person hosting the server would need to have a generator, Low Latency and Awesome Ping, Redundant Power, have experience maintaining servers and be able to guarantee the speed would be equal to or greater than using a DC hosted server. (DC = Data Center) Most home hosted server providers could never provide these guarantees so I would probably spend a few extra bucks and get a VPS.

Those aren't really unique or amazing features that you have listed. I'm sorry but anyone who decides to use home hosting for a long-term server, or anything more than LAN-gaming with friends, is an idiot.
