Default HTML Template [Rep+2]

Hey,

I'm new to scripting websites etc.. Could anyone tell me or point me to somewhere that shows what a HTML page should look like before any real coding is done for example the meta doctypes etc.. Thanks and Rep+!

If you want to use html5

HTML Code:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
    <head>
        <meta charset="utf-8" />

        <title>Your title</title>

        <meta name="description" content="" />

        <meta name="author" content="" />
    </head>
    <body>
        <header>

        </header>
        <div id="main" role="main">
            <article>
                <header>

                </header>
            </article>
        </div>
        <footer>

        </footer>
    </body>
</html>

That's an excellent link for you to look into and research Snowman12. The boilerplate is amazing, you can learn obviously HTML5 and CSS3 with many browser issues nightmares automatically fixed, giving better cross-browser support.

I would advise you to take a look, however.. don't just use the boilerplate atleast learn and come accross many of the cross-browser issues so you know how to fix them in future aswell.
