Default Midnight Club San Andreas (racing gamemode made from scratch)


Hello, as a motorsport lover and a mechanical engineer I decided to create a racing gamemode from scratch so these days I've been messing around a little bit, allow me to share with you some videos/screenshots related to this project.

Videos
  • 1. Introduction
    Everything you're going to see is in-game footage and non-player characters were used. Many thanks to adri1 for helping me to record some scenes.

  • 2. Garages
    In this video I'm rearranging my vehicles, the red arrow shows vehicle's current spot and the green one indicates where it'll be moved if the player confirms. The blue garage entry is just for testing.
The Chase mini-series NEW
My mate T. is working on an animated racing mini-series called The Chase, here you may find all the episodes released. I'll keep you tuned about it. All honors to T. because they are not recorded in-game, but animated and rendered in 3ds Max, Unity, etc. We don't know yet if this will be related somehow to the MCSA story, but even if it won't, I invite you all to watch it because it's worth in my opinion.Game mode
I would say it's a light RP based on races. The main idea is to get reputation and become the champion, it would be very dynamic and competitive. There are more than five race types and each one has its own champion, for example, the player who has won the most drifting races would be the "drift king". So, who's the real big champion? I'll use an algorithm for that, depending on how many times you have won on each race type.

Multiple languages
Initially it'll be available in English, Spanish and Portuguese but as I speak some more languages (Italian and Romanian) I might add them over time. I think using multiple languages is a good idea, this way people around the world can join and have fun, even if they don't speak the same language. I guess handling a racing RP with players speaking different languages wouldn't be too complicated, I'll try to add auto-rol messages for as many actions as possible for the respective languages.

Looks promising, I love the login/registration screen, one question tho!
The two racing cars at the beginning (that showed up on the login/registration screen), were they people or NPCs?
If they were NPCs, top notch to the details,
overall, it's freaking amazing, good luck on your project.

You implement two languages and yet you choose Spanish for the demonstration, because fuck everyone who doesn't speak Spanish.

Using NPCs for scenes limits the total amount of slots and may cause problems when a lot of players are online.

So 3 NPCs per player would limit the slots to 250 if NPCs are needed regularly unless you make players wait until the required amount of NPCs are unoccupied, which would suck.

Yet, you cannot have 1k slots (just implying the fact). My point is if you're going to use them for scenes on demand then reserving ~3 NPCs per player would be good but limits the max slots amount.

Otherwise, a system which makes players wait for unoccupied NPCs would be an alternative option to have.
