I'm using the SelectObject() environment to allow a user to choose an object to pick up, but short of using EditObject (Which is not required in this instance) there doesn't seem...

Yeah that's what I thought. Only alternative I've been able to come up with so swap the variable names with array indexes, but going to experiment with this tomorrow.

Every time the log in, set their Inactive variable to 0. Every 24 hours, increment everyones Inactive variable by 1 and delete all people with a variable higher than x (days).

Whatever MySQL plugin you are using will have a function along the lines of mysql_free_result to be executed after a query that produces a result has ran.

The default spawn position is the one you set in SetPlayerClass, if you want that altered you need to move them using SetPlayerPos under OnPlayerSpawn(playerid)

Vehicles without a driver can't be damaged. You can however put in automatic punishments that kill a player if he kills someone from the passenger seat of a car with no driver.

Think about it, if one skin is 7 units high, and another is only 4, the default would be 5.5, which would be completely off for both.

Several hundred skins x several thousand objects x 9 floats per object.

That's a lot of work for someone to just make and post online, if somebody has done it, you'll find it by searching.
