Re: Mysql house system

If I may, I suggest you read up the tutorials about MySQL with multi-threading and caching. How you implemented it was wrong, once you do a (SELECT) query, you're supposed to send it to a callback to...

Re: Querying in an existing cache; Daisy-chaining queries.

A very insightful proposition. The same example logic relates to what I did on my Company system.
Load all companies (From the company table) then grabbing all the Founders(From the main player...

Querying in an existing cache; Daisy-chaining queries.

Is it a good practice to query once more when i'm on a callback from where I was sent into by the main query? I just made this right now to show my point,

public SampleCallback()
{...

Re: Ambiguous number of employees, using an enum?

The post below you doesn't support that premise.

Thanks for confirming my notion :), just wondering though, would that hold up pretty well for a thousand houses?

{...

Re: password help

Passwords shouldn't be stored in plain text! That renders your hashed password useless if you're still saving the password in a text file.

Re: Ambiguous number of employees, using an enum?

That enlightened it up fairly well. Just a while ago I did that for my Houses (where I would show the player the houses he owned.) instead of looping over 300 houses, I just did a query and it...

Re: GetTime function

If you've watched the Computerphile video, it's a lot more complicated than just adding or subtracting hours to the GMT.

Re: Ambiguous number of employees, using an enum?

Wouldn't that cause a massive lag though when lots of players use the command at the same time and the number of rows are more than 500 at the worst case? but I do get your point. Guess I'll try it...

Ambiguous number of employees, using an enum?

In my script, I can create a company. Members are allowed to apply in said company. There's no limit as to how many can apply. Though now I have a problem on how to show members of the company (incl....

Re: /asellallhouses

You're only dealing with one house id. If you want to delete them all, loop through all house ids whilst executing the different functions such as ClearHouse, Destroying of Pickups among others for...

Re: ConvertPrice bug ?

No, GivePlayerMoney accepts integer not formatted strings.

On-Topic: You're printing an integer (given the flag: %d), change that to %s as the stock function returns a string."[Info] You get %s!"...

Re: How to max 3 accounts on 1 IP

Here's an idea, Grab the IP on registration then store it with the player data. When a player registers, do a query and use COUNT() to get the number of accounts with the same Address. If the count...

Re: Whirpool error

The variable (in your script) where you're storing the hash has a size less than that of the required, 129 characters.

Re: Looping on Data vs Fetching from a database

That was my first impression too (I don't know how I came up that looping is more efficient than constantly fetching). Given your input, I'll be applying the latter. :)
Thanks!

Looping on Data vs Fetching from a database

You see, I was making a /stats command. In this command, the player would be able to see the houses that he bought. Now, would it be better looping through thousands of houses just to find his house,...
