Re: Today I learned - Share your newly found knowledge!

Just ****** what the maximum safe voltage for everyday use is for that CPU and keep below that. I've been running my i5-6600K at 4.6 Ghz (up from 3.5 Ghz) at 1.325V for many months now without any...

Re: Today I learned - Share your newly found knowledge!

If there's any randomness involved then it can never be truly unique. The chance of a match is extremely small but it is still there nevertheless. Assuming MySQL, let the database generate the salt....

Re: Today I learned - Share your newly found knowledge!

Today I learned that you cannot re-texture or re-color animated objects, which sucks beyond belief. They will just become invisible. Today I also learned that the script I wrote to compensate for...

Re: Today I learned - Share your newly found knowledge!

Every self-respecting programmer will tell you that goto must never be used. It inevitably leads to spaghetti code and there are always better ways to solve it. To avoid "repeating the code over and...

Re: Today I learned - Share your newly found knowledge!

Clearing an array without the need for a loop.

static const empty[MAX_PLAYERS char] = {0, ...};
gIgnoring[playerid] = empty;

static const empty_info[pInfo];
gPlayerInfo[playerid] =...

Re: Today I learned - Share your newly found knowledge!

Today I learned that you can generate documentation with the -r option, although it is rather primitive and doesn't work very well. It requires a bunch of ugly XML tags in your comments and the...

Re: Today I learned - Share your newly found knowledge!

Well duh, because clearly "_:" isn't the same as "PlayerText:". Just declare the "td" variable with the PlayerText tag in the loop header.
for(new PlayerText:td; ...

Re: Today I learned - Share your newly found knowledge!

Today I learned that you can actually pass "inline" arrays to functions;

if(in_array(GetPlayerWeapon(playerid), {22,26,28,29,30,31,32}))
{
printf("stuff");
}
else
{
printf("no stuff");
}

Re: Today I learned - Share your newly found knowledge!

Too bad that there are lots of mistakes on it. On the weapons list it says 'modelid' while it is supposed to say weaponid, on the color generator page it depicts 50% opacity as 0xAA while that's more...

Re: Today I learned - Share your newly found knowledge!

Good to hear that you found a way to confuse the average user even more. :')
I bet the only people that understand what you just said are Slice and yourself.

Re: Today I learned - Share your newly found knowledge!

Today I learned that the compiler implicitly includes default.inc in all scripts.

Today I learned that the name of an enum also defines its total size.
