You're not getting the velocity in that script and you should be multiplying by the percentvalue

If you just think about it, what do you think the value of your speed variable is?

it's not useless at all and can do exactly what you're asking, you can execute queries on the database to retrieve information like mentioned previously.

I'm guessing you have huge amount of variables for some reason, you could probably take whatever it is out of the main game mode and into a filterscript

when you say PVars are slow you're talking tens of thousands of a millisecond like 0.00023 ms according to some speed tests, meaning you'd have to use over ten thousand in the one function to notice...

it's possible the code is cancelled before it reaches the part where it changes the variables, the rest seems fine.
