Let the pointless argument between Intel vs. AMD begin.

letting the argument aside, a fair competition is always good for the consumer. We can all agree on that, right?

Exactly what i said in my post. What ever fan boy side anyone's on, Thats fine. Some like Pepsi others Coca Cola. But AMD releasing a CPU which is on with par with intel is good for everyone when you next pick your chip. So il say it again, Tech wise.. 2017 gonna be a good year.

I bought a 6700K recently (the new series came quick after it tho, but it's not much of an upgrade for me to be worth it to buy a new one) so I'm not switching anytime soon and certainly not to AMD, but if Ryzen breaks the Intel series prices that'd be perfect.

Sure, this kind of innovation is good for Intel to force them to compete more, but Intel is always going to be the preferred CPU manufacturer. AMD will never recover their reputation.

games these days (BF1) are taking advantage of those extra cores, so your point would be somewhat invalid in a short time, considering how fast future games make use of more cores

That doesn't apply anymore, trust me - my RX480 doesn't go over 65 C at load and drivers are better than ever (giving huge performance increases during time)

Either way yeah, these Ryzen cpu's are shaking up the market. I like it.

I can say exact the same thing, i've switched from NVIDIA to AMD and bought also a RX 480 (8GB version) and it runs smoother then NVIDIA does. Also, AMD is pushing more drivers updates out then NVIDIA nowadays.

I know it's not an AMD vs NVIDIA thread, but it's good to know that AMD is doing better then before, at there driver side, but also there hardware.
