@vmlinuz Of course Intel is way superior... I'm not a fan boy but that's the fact.

Many people say AMD is the best CPU for buck but I'd rather save for an Intel CPU due to its performance per core and power consumption which make the CPU way superior.

Moving on anyways, with GTA V PC right around the corner(once again.. hopefully for good this time) im getting quite concerned on how my poor old *6970* is going to handle this game @ 1080p with at least high settings but only the game releasing and me playing it will tell.. Maybe it's time to do some voltage bumping and really push the limits of this card or pick up a used 7950/7970 for cheap and overclock it to the moon and back like those card's are famed to be able to do.

Nice idea, I will push my HD 6850 to the limits as well, I reached 1Ghz at 1.215V (775mhz / 1.15V ) and 1200Mhz Mem Clock (1000Mhz)... I just used it for benchmarking And I am really close to a HD 6950, however the heat and the power consumption ratio is not worth really for everyday use and gaming so I keep it at 960core / 1150mem 1.17V, I gain 7FPS avrage but it wortk those 15more watts and 4C more for the gain..

Not really there different models of i3's, i5's and i7's. It would basically depend on what exact processors(their exact model numbers) are you distinguishing between.
for example,
Intel Core i5 4460 is better than Intel Core i7 3632QM
BUT
Intel Core i7 3632QM is better than Intel Core i5 4200U
ALSO
Intel i3 processors being dual core in nature and the i5 model you specified being quad core in nature the i5 model is better than almost every i3 models. But there are some which can give a good competition to this i5 model although dual core in nature

Their size are pretty much the same depends of the brand... But for example asus has the strix, the "normal" and the small size... Depends which you prefer... For example the Gigabyte is quite long

Pick up a GTX 960 that have the small single fan coolers since it will most likely be the same size but at least 2x+ faster.

When it gets cheaper... The GTX960 is mostly like a GTX760, sightly faster but with full DX12 support, it might perform better when Win10 comes out
