Personally I only kick.
This can be solved by banning for a temporary amount of time. Permanent bans make less sense (because as you mentioned, a player may have the same IP in the future) and if the banned person wants to evade, he can do so even with a permanent ban.

As for kicks, not all actions will be reasonable enough for a kick. Sure, minor incidents can be handled like this but other more significant offences such as cheating, etc are probably more sufficient for a ban.

This may sound weird but I don't ban hackers who changes their IP and comes back, instead I make them ragequit by muting from chat and set his virtual world different from 0 so he cannot hurt anyone. Let him play alone, who cares?

Well that's a good and funny trick but never thought about legit players who can't join because a cheater is filling their player slot? (Think about a full server)

Another trick is to play a p0rn sound when they get caught cheating.

Its 2020, the only full servers are the ones with bots.

There are still a few that don't have bots and manage to fill the servers. I think by filling servers he means reaching the maximum player slots (could be 50, 100, more), opposed to reaching the player limit of 1000.

Thanks for replying all, back to the question, what CI stands for ? and what path does GPCI hashes ?
c:/program files or c:/users ?

Banning the username won't work (Can join with different username)
Banning the IP Address won't work (IP can be changed)
Banning the IP range won't work (May ban the whole country or sometimes whole IP changes)
Banning the GPCI won't work (Not unique)

How servers owners deal with bans? c'mon lol

You may use IP range ban, if he still abusing your server you can ban the whole country which its sometimes bad if your server is based on a specific location/place.

If you read the thread before replying & had common sense, you could easily tell that an IP range ban would be extremely useless & would have more negative effects than positive. You would ban a whole country and the person could just use a VPN/proxy to change his IP to another country and evade the ban. Meanwhile, the people in that country wouldn't be able to access your server and you would miss out on a lot of potential players.

This is actually a good idea and I do it sometime when got fed up by cheaters.

As all said, their is no permanent solution for this problem. You can increase your admin strength , Anti hack systems etc to avoid hacks.
