Sure, but that should happen during the connection, not when you are in-game playing. That's what he meant I guess.

No, it is not a must for it to only happen during connection, that happens only with skins, though objects are downloaded once you face them, BUT you can make that happen on connect as well if you move addmodel* from your artwork file into your script under OnGameModeInit AFAIK.
